Description
This was 50! What you see is what you get. Pictured is the actual lot you will buy. This sale is for 292 grams/1,460 carats of all natural, gem quality, hard mini boulders or nuggets of Pilot Mountain turquoise Scrap from our “Bell Collection”. We purchased most of the scrap Turquoise left over from Bell Trading Post, Sunbell, and Maisel. With direct custody and command of the material traceable back to the company. A Route 66 historical treasure!Hand picked with perfection, no throw aways. Super wonderful matrix, high grade. You are looking at some of the nicest pieces of Pilot Mountain turquoise that we have seen come from the Bell Collection. This is a pretty rare find. It came from the factory of the Bell Trading Post and its daughter company, Sunbell, and this is actually really early material. It’s pretty nice Pilot Mountain material, it almost looks like Blue Diamond.
The Pilot Mountain mine is in western Nevada, east of of Mina. As with most turquoise mines, this mine opened as a copper claim in the modern age. Pilot Mountain turquoise was first mined around 1930 as a tunnel mine, and then became an open pit mine when heavy equipment was available around 1970. Pilot Mountain is considered an active mine but the truth is it is a very small operation. The Pilot Mountain turquoise gem stone quality material often resembles Bisbee Turquoise, Orvil Jack Faustite, and King Manasseh Turquoise. When these get sorted in our shop, just like when these got sorted at the Maisel or Bell shops, there was some bleedthrough. It’s all wonderful materials so we leave that when we see it in a sort like this. You’ll see it too!
The colors are amazing.
And this material in this particular lot is 100% all natural hard and great quality, it is neither stabilized nor enhanced. Pilot Mountain is known for over 36 variants of matrix! This is really nice material, a good grade, large pieces. This material is not dyed or stained. A lot of this graded Pilot was separated by the employees of Maisel Trading Post before it was acquired by Bell/Sunbell and came that way. The rest of it was sorted out. We have proven chain of custody and command going back to these route 66 historic companies which you can read about on our website.
This is a rare opportunity because I am not willing to let much of our Pilot Mountain go. You will only find this here on our eBay store. Take advantage of this moment and snatch it. This Turquoise is very expensive on the turquoise market right now, The incredible colors can’t even really be seen in the pictures. You really want it - because it is desirable. It is also valuable. Buy this. There is no way you will be disappointed. I know that for a fact. Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.
