    Description

The Warsaw Pact (formally "Treaty of Friendship, Co-operation, and Mutual Assistance") was signed in 1955 as a direct result of West Germany joining NATO. I suppose the world had not learned its lesson about power blocs in either World Wars. Anyway, the Warsaw Pact was a military counterpart to the CoMEcon, or Council for "Mutual Economic Assistance". However, CoMeCon included more than Eastern European nations. the Warsaw Pact disintegrated during 1989/1990 as the Eastern Bloc nations changed ruling parties. each button is 1" (25.4 mm) in diameter. Lockpin suspensions.
Included are (top row first, left to right): Hungary,  East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Soviet Union, Poland, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania.
