This is a lot of 1" badges featuring different emblems of the Communist Party of the United States of America (aka CPUSA). the Party was formed in 1919, and it has been the most persecuted political party in USA history...despite its good deeds for the working class. members of the CPUSA have been blacklisted, deported, and even executed by the US government. during the 1950s, show trials against alleged Communists were commonplace...even though political freedom and freedom of assembly are guaranteed by the US constitution. CPUSA has taken different names through the years due to repressive laws and occasional leadership changes. Also represented are two badges for the YCL (Young Communist League). the CPUSA has scored many victories with leading organizations involved with women's suffrage, civil and equal rights, union organizing, LGBT issues, and anti-war movements.
