This is a 1" badge featuring one of the symbols of Communist Party of Cuba (Partido de Comunisto de Cuba). although the Party was officially founded in 1965, it is actually a formation of most Leftist parties of Cuba, with its major roots in the 26th of July Movement. in 1956, the 26th of July Movement overthrew the corrupt and cruel government of Fulgencio Batista. headed by heroes like Fidel Castro, Raul  Castro, Ernesto Guevara,  and Camilo Cienfuegos this incredibly popular band of revolutionaries became the leaders of the still-ongoing "Cuban Revolution". after the disintegration of the USSR and Eastern Bloc, the PCC retained leadership through tough years of austerity and rationing...until the ALBA movement of South America came along.
